Windgongs are also known as Feng or Sun (Sun) gongs. The shape is almost flat, and because of this, the gong's vibration is long with a very pronounced sustain. One of the main characteristics of this type of gong is its accentuated low frequencies and the variety of overtones depending on the intensity with which it is played. The brilliant sound of wind gongs has rich traditional roots in meditation and ceremony.
