The Meinl gongs from the Windgong series are traditionally crafted in China using a special alloy.
Yin and Yang represent harmony and balance. They describe two opposites that, instead of fighting, complement each other.

"The primordial principle moves and generates Yang. When the movement comes to an end, it becomes still, and this stillness generates yin." (Alfred Forke)
The Windgong is also known as Feng or Sun (Sol) gongs. The shape is almost flat, and because of this, the vibration of the gong is long with a very pronounced sustain. One of the main characteristics of this type of gong is its emphasized low frequencies and the variety of nuances depending on the intensity with which it is played.
