Percussion. These instruments from the Timbra series have been developed
in close collaboration with several elite percussionists such as
Carlinhos Brown.
The goal was to create live performance instruments with exceptional sound quality but also with a spectacular design.
Timbra instruments are gems and have been rated by some of the best Brazilian percussionists as the "Ferrari" of Brazilian
instruments.
The surdos with short depth originate from Bahia where sambistas dance with a lot of choreography and sometimes lift the
surdo high above their heads. For this reason, a short surdo is lighter and easier to handle. This also affects the sound since the
sustain is shorter due to having less resonance shell.
The surdos from Timbra have more tension rods and also weigh slightly more.
