One of the most notable features of this series is the new FBS suspension system for the bars. This exclusive bar support system increases resonance by over 20%. The bars are laser-cut to ensure they are drilled at the nodal point, guaranteeing perfect bar resonance.
This series also incorporates the innovative ICS (Integrated Cord Suspension) system. The frame features solid wooden components that provide outstanding stability and resonance.
Differences from other models
The difference from the PSM 501 model is the range. The bars are of the same quality as the rest of the PSM 500 and PSM1000 series.
Bars
The bars are made from African Padouk (Pterocarpus soyauxii). As a perfect alternative to Honduran Rosewood marimbas, Vancore uses African Padouk as the primary material for the bars. This dense African hardwood produces a warm sound with rich sustain. Through careful selection of log quality and size, the African Padouk bars offer a perfectly balanced marimba keyboard in terms of performance and tone.
Resonators
Vancore uses the Resonator Clamp System. They are individually hand-adjusted and assembled using an exclusive mounting system. This system eliminates any unwanted sounds or rattles. Unlike other resonators that are welded or riveted, this system employs minimal contact technology.
