The V31 module features the same internal generator as the V71, providing you with an identical combination of sounds and expansion path in a simplified interface. These ready-to-record sounds have been crafted from a careful selection of the best drum kits in the world, offering detail, punch, and sound quality comparable to the most expensive computer collections.

New Sounds on Demand

Just like with the V71, you can freely change the sound set of the V31 module to always sound up-to-date. Open the Roland Cloud Connect app on your mobile device to access a growing range of V-Drums Instrument Expansions through your wireless network. Then, search for the sounds you want, download them directly to the module, and start playing.

Choose Your Perspective

Drum sounds exist in two different universes. One is the intimate and close sound of the drum kit when you're playing it. The other is the sound produced that you hear in recordings and live concerts, which is often processed with equalizers, compressors, and ambient effects. Some Drums Instrument Expansions have been specially mixed for both profiles, that of the drummer and that of the producer, allowing you to create the musical experience you seek with just the press of a button.

The V31 kits come ready to play, offering you top-notch sounds with just a turn of a dial. To add a personal touch, press the EZ Edit button to instantly change kick and snare sounds, adjust pitch and damping, balance drum and cymbal levels, and more. And if you want to go even further, dive deep into the module's advanced editing tools or use V31 Editor on your Mac or Windows computer.

Your Personal Drumming Teacher

One of the most appreciated features of V-Drums is the built-in coaching mode, which offers plenty of fun tools to develop your technique and play like clockwork. You have an advanced metronome, along with classics like Time Check and Quiet Count, as well as new features like Phrase Trainer for practicing rhythm, Stroke Monitor for stick control, and Blast Beat for working on precision and endurance. The V-Drums 3 kits also include Drum Pass, an exclusive Roland package of 100 interactive lessons from Melodics™ created especially for V-Drums performers.

Wireless Freedom

The V31 includes a Roland wireless adapter that connects to your network, allowing you to listen and download sound content directly through the Roland Cloud Connect app on a mobile device. You can update the module wirelessly to keep your system software up to date in the easiest way. You also have audio/MIDI Bluetooth for jamming with songs from your mobile, playing along with video lessons, and more.

Multichannel Audio and MIDI

Use the built-in USB audio/MIDI interface in the module for communication with DW Soundworks, V31 Editor, and other music software. And if you want to explore music production with a computer, you can capture up to 30 channels of audio in a DAW through a single cable.

Amazing Snares

Each V-Drums 3 kit includes an expressive 12-inch snare pad with an adjustable dual-layer mesh head, independent trigger for head and rim, and cross-stick compatibility. The PDX-12 (TD313) features a narrow rubber rim that offers natural acoustic feel, while the new PD-12P (TD316) includes a chrome rim and three piezo sensors with hot spot elimination and improved response. The PDA120LS (VAD316) delivers extraordinary performance with advanced sensors and a narrow wooden shell that looks acoustic.

Responsive Toms

The TD313 and TD316 kits include the new PD-8H and PD-10H tom pads, which excel in feel and response. Designed for expressive and dynamic playing, these pads feature a rubber rim sourced from Roland's high-end pads, as well as an offset piezo sensor that minimizes hot spots and provides precise detection on head and rim. The VAD316 takes performance even further with two 10-inch rack toms and a 12-inch floor tom with narrow wooden shells.
