The shells
Acutely, the hand-selected maple core of each shell produces a sound we are already familiar with, a resonant and projecting sound, and the inner and outer layers of birch provide the necessary attack for an equalized sound, drying up the harmonics and providing sound localization. The SONIClear edges from Mapex make it easy to seat the heads, providing a wide range of tuning and pure, deep lows.
