Since the 1970s, the name Superstar has stood for innovative design, build quality, tone, and projection. Superstar Classic continues this tradition, raising the standard while lowering the price. Based on the past superstar, its classic Tama T-shaped badge and low-mass lugs, Star-Mount system, and the new thinner thickness with 100% maple shells.
The Shells
Tama states that their top priority in reissuing and manufacturing the new Superstar was sound. The powerful character and perfect resonance of the Superstar are achieved using carefully selected maple shells and the shell edge design. The shells are thinner than the original design.
Bass Drum Claws
These hooks stabilize the wooden hoops on the bass drums and feature a rubber lining on the inside that helps protect the wood and maintains tuning even during long performances.
Tom Mount
Tama’s L-Rod and Omnisphere mounts have been trusted by drummers for over 25 years. These systems offer easy positioning, maximum flexibility, stability, and enhanced sound compared to standard mounts that penetrate the shell and can reduce resonance.
Star-Mount System
The Star-Mount system was developed to increase drum resonance. This new mounting system provides four-point support on the drum’s shell hoop side.
The mount bolts slide left and right, allowing you to prevent the bolts from touching each other even when two toms are placed close together.
