The 5A drumsticks are the most commonly used by drummers across virtually all styles. They have a standard length of 16” (40 cm) and a diameter of 0.565. Whatever your style, a 5A can be your stick.
The wood. Maple
This wood is widely used when thickness is needed without extra weight. It is slightly less dense than Hickory (American walnut), about 10%, and around 20% less than Japanese oak. It provides great articulation on both heads and cymbals. Perfect for orchestral use or for jazz musicians who want a stick that is thick without added weight.
