The zabumba keeps the beat and energizes everyone with its syncopated rhythms. The shell is made from laminated wood with a simple and effective tuning system. It is played with a short, padded mallet on the top head made of napa leather and a thin rod on the bottom plastic head. It produces a deep, soft, and warm sound.
