Here is the trend in Salvador de Bahia in recent years: a timba with 16 tension rods, allowing for a very high tuning to achieve the typical Bahia sound.
Classic 90 cm wooden timba, lightweight with excellent sound. This depth produces more volume and resonance than the 70 cm models.
It features a comfort hoop to protect your hands. Includes an additional internal reinforcement hoop that strengthens the shell. Temporanea models come standard with supernylon heads that have a special fiber optic layer on the underside; this synthetic layer delivers an open sound with volume but minimal overtones.
As with all wooden percussion instruments, the sound is warmer than aluminum.
