To achieve the binaural effect, it is important to gently yet firmly strike the edge of both bowls consecutively and let the sound extend until it almost fades away before repeating the operation. The bowls should be positioned on either side of the receiver's head, at a minimum distance of one foot, and struck with the felt mallet that accompanies the set.
