The head Transparent single layer focus-X 10 mil has a ventilated damping ring embedded in the hoop under head. The ventilated damping design eliminates unwanted harmonics but maintains a thick tone in the toms and creates a sensitive and articulated response. With this head you won't need external damping. It is ideal for live microphone or study. There is also a rough interior Power Dot with even greater focus of sound.
