The Chau Gong Sol de Sela are authentic handcrafted works made in China using a special bronze alloy. They produce a deep and immersive sound that resonates impressively when struck. These gongs have a natural and earthy tone with a rich and complex frequency spectrum.
The design of the Sol is based on the concept of the Dark Moon surface and features an untreated matte bronze base, combined with a pattern of concentric circles with a glossy finish.
- Diameter: 28"
- Approximate weight: 7.8 Kg
- Mallet with beech handle and wool-covered head weighing 170 g
- Black transport bag included
The polished concentric rings subtly influence the response and development of harmonics, giving the Gong clarity and projection while preserving the earthy and complex sound character of the untreated surface. The visible hammer marks and natural patina remain intact, making each gong visually and acoustically unique.
The Windgongs are also known as Feng or Sun (Sol) gongs. The shape is nearly flat, and because of this, the vibration of the gong is long with a very pronounced sustain. One of the main features of this type of gong is its accentuated low frequencies and the variety of nuances depending on the intensity with which it is played.
Due to the manufacturing process of this gong, it may have marks on its surface associated with this type of artisanal production. These marks will not be treated as a warranty.
