The XP70 is a 1-zone 7" (17.8 cm) snare or tom pad. The surface uses Yamaha’s Textured Cellular Silicone (TCS) material, which features a structure enclosing numerous air bubbles of precise size and frequency. The TCS surface material mimics the feel of a rough drumhead.
The bubbles in the TCS pad act to dampen the stick impact, reducing the amount of “sound” produced when playing and absorbing the hit to significantly reduce the strain on wrists and elbows.
