One of the most notable aspects of this series is the new suspension system for the bars (FBS). This exclusive support system for the bars increases the resonance by more than 20%. The bars are laser-cut to ensure they are perforated at the nodal point, thus guaranteeing perfect resonance of the bars.
This series incorporates the innovative ICS (Integrated Cord Suspension) system. The support features solid wooden pieces that provide extraordinary stability and resonance.
The bars
The bars are made of high-quality Honduran rosewood. This wood is the one used in all high-end marimba models and is considered the perfect wood for this instrument, producing a warm sound and rich sustain.
Resonators
After years of research, the R&D team at Vancore has developed rectangular bass resonators that produce optimal resonance and projection in the lower registers. These resonators are tunable.
Vancore uses the Resonator Clamp System. They are individually hand-adjusted and assembled using a unique mounting system. This system eliminates all types of unwanted sounds or noise.
Unlike other resonators that are welded or riveted, this system employs minimal contact technology.
The resonators included with the PSM1012 model are decreasing from beginning to end and correspond to each of the bars of the instrument, both chromatic and natural (they are not "curved" as seen in the 2000 and 4000 series). Where there is no bar, there is no resonator to accompany it. This is something that cannot be appreciated in the photo included in the product sheet, which is promotional.
