Constructed from maple wood with the DW HVX layering system, with layers arranged horizontally, vertically, and diagonally to optimize projection, resonance, and tone.

The shell
The Performance Series is crafted with a shell technology designed by John Good and the DW Custom Shell Shop. Combining the latest technology for aligning the natural grains and the selected Hard Rock Maple from North America, the HVX shells of the Performance Series deliver powerful lows, with wide resonance and projection that make it perfect for live performances.
