The SONIClear tom suspension and the legs of the floor tom enhance overall resonance by maintaining the vibration in the shell.

The shells
Acoustically, the hand-selected maple core of each shell produces a sound we are already familiar with, a resonant sound with projection, and the layers of birch on the inside and outside provide the attack needed for an equalized sound, drying out the harmonics and providing sound localization. The SONIClear edges from Mapex allow you to place the heads in position, providing a wide range of tuning and pure, deep lows.
The SONIClear edges
Place a head on one of your current toms. Do you see the wobble? This is proof that the edges of the axis are taking away the tone and the ability to tune. Mapex's SONIClear edges are so perfect that you can hand-tighten the head and it will still produce a pure tone. This expands the tuning range for drummers who prefer deeper lows.
Steel Tomahawk Snare
The snares from Mapex have found a place among rock and metal drummers. If you play these styles, the steel Tomahawk snare included in your Armory will not disappoint. It has all the characteristics of a snare made of steel: a deep sound and a penetrating cut.
