The Shells
The Starclassic Walnut Birch uses a hybrid shell made from birch and walnut, achieving a deep tone that features the  attack of birch and the characteristic sound of walnut.

Quick-Lock Tom Brackets
The "Quick-Lock" tom brackets equipped with the Star-Cast mounting system have some very distinctive and innovative features.
Firstly, these brackets allow for quick and easy setup. But the true unique feature of these brackets is that once the tom is placed on a tom bracket or on the base legs, there is no need to set the memory separately to save the configuration. By simply sliding the switch on the tom bracket, the bracket separates into two parts. When you remove the tom, the "memory lock" part remains on the tom bracket.

These Quick-Lock tom brackets also have hidden acoustic benefits. These brackets also employ rubber coatings to further isolate the toms and enhance resonance.

Star-Cast Mounting System
The Star-Cast mounting system always provides the maximum resonance and stability for Tama's professional toms. An aerodynamic design makes it easier to position the toms closer together for greater convenience. Additionally, an aluminum switch provides a lighter weight and a more authentic tonal vibration.

Die-cast hoops
The hoops not only affect the tuning of the tom, but they also affect the sound. For this reason, the choice of hoops has been very important for Tama's designers. Zinc die-cast hoops have been chosen, which are manufactured by injecting molten metal into molds. The die-cast hoops have more density and a more consistent shape than "normal" hoops made by bending metal plates. Die-cast hoops make tuning more consistent and easier to achieve because the tension rods always make proper contact with the hoop. Toms equipped with this type of hoops offer a sharper attack, clear highs, and resonant sounds along with more powerful rimshots.

Air Pocket™ Rubber Feet
The Air Pocket™ rubber feet on the Starclassic feature a special air chamber that eliminates the transfer of vibrations to the floor (which can muffle the sound) and absorbs impacts for better playability.
In addition to all this, the Tama Walnut Birch comes with Evans heads, die-cast claws on the bass drum, and incredible bass drum features.
