The Clay Aeschliman Signature drumsticks combine the artist’s design with state-of-the-art manufacturing. Designed to deliver versatility and precision, their diameter and length provide a solid feel with excellent control, rebound, and reach. The round tip offers a powerful attack and easy control on all playing surfaces.
Made in Germany from select American walnut, each drumstick is weighed and sorted before shaping. This ensures a very narrow weight range, so every pair has the same weight and tone.
When designing this drumstick, it was essential to create something that complemented my playing style. I use a lot of double strokes, so it was crucial to have a drumstick with the right weight and shape to strike the drum kit on any surface with great rebound, whether it’s the hi-hat or the floor tom, while still maintaining enough balance so it doesn’t feel too big or overpowering. To achieve this, we drew inspiration from the marching drumsticks I used during my drumming days and expanded on them with a design and scale that fit the drum kit. The Wood
American Hickory drumsticks, like the rest of the drumsticks from this brand, are crafted from top-quality material using the latest technological advances in drumstick manufacturing.
It is undoubtedly the most widely used wood for making drumsticks and the preferred choice of the vast majority of drummers due to its durability, weight, and flexibility. Hickory is denser than maple (about 10%) and slightly less dense than Japanese oak (also about 10%). The density and natural feel of this wood make it the favorite of an overwhelming majority of drummers.
