Karl Perazzo had considerable talent from a young age, and by the age of twelve, he had already played with Cal Tjader, Malo, Ray Obiedo, Prince, and Andy Narell. His lifelong dream came true in 1991 when he joined Santana as a timbalero. Perazzo has also performed and recorded with Mariah Carey, Dizzy Gillespie, Phish, the United Nations Orchestra, and John Lee Hooker. Additionally, he leads several side projects, including the popular salsa band Avance.
