About Castañuelasdel Sur
The history of Castañuelasdel Sur begins in a small workshop in Seville in the 60s of last century and today its instruments are in all corners of the world
They are the creators of two great innovations: The “double resonance box”, which gives the castanets a more serious sound. And the “veined black fiber”, one of the most successful materials for its sound adaptable to all styles. They also included new designs to make playing the castanets even easier.
We can see the castanets of these incredible artisans in the hands of the greatest professionals and in schools around the world. Great masters of flamenco and dance such as Antonio El Bailarín, María Rosa, Marienma, Pilar de Oro and Alfredo Gil, Enrique el Cojo, Realito, Jose Antonio, Aida Gómez, Matilde Coral and the great Castañuelas soloist Jose de Udaeta have had in his hands some of the Castañuelasdel Sur models. Also the National Ballet of Spain, the concert performers Consol Grau, Teresa Láiz and Mar Bezana have used them in their shows.
