The Shells
The Renown drum kits are made with Gretsch's classic 7-ply maple formula, featuring 30-degree cut edges and the exclusive "Silver Sealer" interior finish. They are also equipped with Gretsch "302" hoops, the same hoop used in the Brooklyn and Broadkaster series. The Gretsch 302 hoops produce a focused sound similar to a die-cast hoop but are lighter and less rigid, allowing the drum to "breathe" better for maximum resonance.
