The Shells
The Tour Custom is crafted with shells made of maple, which gives it a warm and bright tone. Shells made with 6 plies and a 45º bearing edge that provides tonal depth, quick response, and the Just the right amount of sustain. Finished in new and attractive satin lacquer finishes.
Designed in close collaboration with many Yamaha artists, the Tour Custom is crafted with layers of thickness reduced, 0.8 mm each, with a thickness total of 5.6 mm, this is the Shell finer than a hi-hat made Yamaha, but no less durable. A set with an open and full-bodied sound
The toms feature the YESS system, which maintains minimal contact with the Shell, providing it with a greater dynamic range and more sustain.
