Ahead TIP Tip

Drummer and engineer Rick Grossman observed a trend in sporting goods during the 1990s. Wooden baseball bats and hockey sticks were replaced by lighter and more durable aluminum versions. Grossman thought this technology could be applied to drumsticks, and he developed a prototype, leading to the birth of Ahead. Ahead sticks have gained favor among Metal artists and many drummers from other styles, and today they can be seen in the hands of Lars Ulrich, Mick Fleetwood, and Tommy Lee, to name a few.
Ahead is one of the most prestigious brands in the rock and metal world. They are the creators of the biggest change in the world of drumsticks. Their durability is 6 to 10 times greater than wood, they reduce vibrations to prevent injuries, minimize breakage of cymbals and heads, and have interchangeable parts, so for a modest price, you get a new stick.
