Alloy
Known as Zildjian Secret Alloy, this B20 alloy is composed of 80% copper and 20% tin. This B20 alloy can be difficult to work, as it requires a great reworking and recollected due to its very fragile natural state, but Zildjian has used it for more than 400 years.
Like all cymbals of Zildjian cast bronze, they are poured and moulded individually from raw cast metal. Each foundry cools and is classified by weight for each model cymbal. Then, the casting parts are subjected to a complex sequence of heating techniques, laminated, formed, martilleated and tornado unique for each model cymbals. These cymbals cast bronze have a rich and large body sound that improves with the passing of time. They also have greater projection, clarity and durability than any other cymbal.
